What Is the S-VCG Programme?

Who Can Apply for the Student Venture Capital Grant?
The official S-VCG portal states that applicants must be currently enrolled students in Nigerian tertiary institutions. This includes students studying at:
- Universities
- Polytechnics
- Colleges of Education
Importantly, the programme is open to students in both public and private tertiary institutions.
The standard eligibility requirement is that the student should be in 300 level or above, or the equivalent level in their institution.
However, students below 300 level can still participate as members of a team, provided the team is led by a student who meets the 300-level requirement. The lower-level student must be included as a co-founder or partner in the project submission.
This means that a 100-level or 200-level student does not necessarily have to wait until reaching 300 level before becoming involved. They can collaborate with an eligible senior student and contribute to the venture as part of the team.
Do You Need a Registered Business?

One of the important requirements of the current S-VCG programme is that the project or innovation must have a business name registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
